Miller County Route C Mill Creek Bridge reopens ahead of schedule

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Miller County Route C bridge over Mill Creek, south of Brumley, is now open. Construction crews completed the new deck, or driving surface, earlier than anticipated, reopening the bridge to all traffic today, Thursday, Nov. 16, at approximately 5 p.m.

S & A Equipment & Builders, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, closed Route C at Mill Creek on Sept. 18. While the supporting structures of the bridge, built in 1966, are in good condition, the driving surface had deteriorated to the point of needing replacement. The project was anticipated to continue into December, but the contractor was able to complete the work early and reopen the roadway today.

From May 30 – Sept. 1, the same contractor closed the Route C Brumley Creek Bridge, also for a bridge deck replacement project. More information about the two bridges can be found here: www.modot.org/route-c-bridge-deck-replacement-miller.
