ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The project to resurface ramps at the intersections of U.S. Route 71 with Route T and U.S. Route 59 in Andrew County that was scheduled to begin today, Thursday, Nov. 2, has been postponed again due to cold temperatures. Crews from Herzog Contracting Corp. LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, now plan to begin the project Monday, Nov. 6. Each ramp will be closed intermittently during daylight hours for paving. Motorists should seek an alternate route.
The project includes resurfacing the northbound on/off ramps at U.S. Route 71 and Route T and the north and southbound U.S. Route 71 and U.S. Route 59 on/off ramps.
Herzog Contracting Corp. LLC is paving the ramps as part of a larger resurfacing project including portions of U.S. Route 71 between Maryville and Savannah and U.S. Route 59 between Savannah and Interstate 29 which is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2024.
