One lane of eastbound I-70 to remain closed overnight at the Rocheport Bridge

One eastbound lane and both westbound lanes are open

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The right-hand (driving) lane of eastbound Interstate 70 will remain closed through approximately 6 a.m. at the Rocheport Bridge, near mile marker 115. The eastbound passing lane and both westbound lanes are open.

During a bridge inspection following controlled blasts on the remaining piers of the old Rocheport Bridge early Sunday morning, it was discovered that there was pavement damage to the eastbound driving lane. The contractor has made the necessary pavement repairs, but the lane will remain closed to allow the pavement to cure. Motorist should expect delays.

For everyone’s safety, please obey the posted work zone speed limit, eliminate all distractions, and exercise extreme caution.
