Route P in Maries County to close for bridge rehabilitation work

Lanes Fork Creek Bridge scheduled to close Oct. 23

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Maries County Route P bridge over Lanes Fork Creek will close next week for rehabilitation work. Construction crews anticipate restricting all access to the bridge beginning the morning of Oct. 23, 2023.

Built in 1967, the supporting structures of the bridge are in good condition, but the driving surface has deteriorated, and needs replaced. Route P over Lanes Fork Creek will be closed for the duration of construction, which is expected to continue through Dec. 8, 2023. A signed detour will not be used, but signs will be located well ahead of the closure to alert motorists to use an alternate route.

MoDOT contracted with Lehman Construction, LLC to complete the work on this and two other Maries County bridges:

  • The Missouri Route 28 Dry Fork Creek Bridge has reached the end of its useful life and is scheduled for replacement.
  • Like the Lanes Fork Creek Bridge, the Maries County Route C bridge over Peavine Creek also needs a new deck.

The dates for construction on these bridges has yet to be determined.

All construction will require full closures and is expected to be completed by mid-2024. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
