JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Truman Boulevard overpass bridge in Jefferson City is now open. Construction crews completed rehabilitation work earlier than anticipated, shortening the duration of the bridge closure and limiting the impact to motorists.
Crews from E & C Bridge, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, closed Truman Boulevard over U.S. Route 50 on Oct. 9 to replace the expansion joints, make concrete repairs, and apply a protective coating. The contractor was allowed up to 10 calendar days to complete the work but was able to reopen the bridge to all traffic on Oct. 13 – after only five days.
The construction crew will close the Cole County Route D bridge over U.S. Route 50. On the morning of Monday, Oct. 16, all access to the bridge will be restricted for rehabilitation work. A signed detour will be in place for the duration of the closure, which is expected to continue through Oct. 23.
