Lane and ramp closures scheduled for portion of EB/WB I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd., Oct. 17-19

This work will take place in the evening and overnight, Oct. 17-19

JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will make the following lane and ramp closures on eastbound and westbound I-70, Oct. 17-19. This work is for setting the bridge girders of the new Blue Ridge Blvd. Bridge.

Tuesday, Oct. 17 -Wednesday, Oct. 18 WB and EB I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd.

  • Crews will close one lane on EB I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd. from approximately 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Oct. 17.
  • Crews will close one lane on WB I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd. from approximately 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Oct. 17.
  • Crews will close two lanes on WB I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd. from approximately 9 p.m. on Oct. 17 until 6 a.m. on Oct. 18.
    • Motorists can expect rolling stops and reduced speeds at times as girders are placed.
  • The ramps from WB I-70 to U.S. 40 EB and U.S. 40 WB will also be closed to accommodate the work taking place.

Wednesday, Oct. 18-Thursday, Oct. 19 WB and EB I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd.

  • Crews will close one lane on WB I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd. from approximately 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Oct. 18.
  • Crews will close one lane on EB I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd. from approximately 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Oct. 18.
  • Crews will close two lanes on EB I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd. from approximately 9 p.m. on Oct. 18 until 6 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19.
    • Motorists can expect rolling stops and reduced speeds at times as girders are placed.
  • The ramps from WB I-70 to U.S. 40 EB and U.S. 40 WB will also be closed to accommodate the work taking place.

This will not be a complete closure but motorists will experience delays in the area. All work is weather dependent.

This work is part of the project to replace the Blue Ridge Blvd. bridge over Interstate 70, as well as making interchange improvements to the ramps and approaches. Throughout construction, there will be intermittent lane closures along eastbound and westbound I-70.

Motorists should anticipate various lane closures, ramp closures, and bridge work through approximately the end of 2023.

This bridge is included in Governor Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges Program which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
