SB U.S. 61 in Cape Girardeau County Reduced for Turn Lane, Island Construction

Kiwanis, Cape Rock Closed Near U.S. 61 Intersection

SIKESTON—Southbound U.S. Route 61 (S. Kingshighway) will be reduced to one lane as contractor crews construct a right turn lane and island near the U.S. 61/North Cape Rock intersection in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. In addition, Kiwanis Drive and Cape Rock Drive will be closed near the intersection as work is underway.

 This section of road way will be from East Rodney Drive to Broadway Street. 

Weather permitting, work will take place overnight beginning Sunday, Oct. 22 through Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. nightly.    

The work zones will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near these areas.
