Route 215/Stockton Lake Bridge CLOSED for Rehabilitation in Dade County Beginning Week of Oct. 16

Dade County – The Missouri Route 215 bridge over Stockton Lake west of Bona will be CLOSED for up to 90 days while contractor crews rehabilitate the bridge starting the week of October 16, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will remove and replace the bridge deck/driving surface. The project also includes adding new barrier walls, guardrail and permanent striping.

Traffic Impacts:

  • All lanes of Route 215 CLOSED where crews are working
  • Drivers will have access to entrances at either end of the bridge, but will not be able to drive through the work zone
  • Drivers will be directed along a signed detour using U.S. Route 160, Route 215 and Dade County routes H & Y
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes to avoid work zone
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling delays will alter the work schedule.

This bridge was built in 1967 and carries approximately 540 vehicles per day.

This contract also includes replacing the Dade County Route K bridge over Jordan Creek west of Everton and the Dade County Route D bridge over Horse Creek northwest of Lockwood. Work on those bridges will begin in early 2024.

  • Prime Contractor: Hartman & Company Inc., Springfield
  • Completion Date: August 1, 2024
  • Total project cost: $3.4 million
