ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use the ramp from eastbound Interstate 44 and northbound Interstate 55 to eastbound Interstate 64 across the Mississippi River should be prepared to allow extra time or seek alternate routes Sunday.
Weather permitting, crews will close the ramp from eastbound I-44/northbound I-55 to eastbound I-64 across the Poplar Street Bridge (Exit 291A) in the city of St. Louis Sunday, October 8 at 9 a.m., to replace a crash cushion on the ramp that was damaged during a crash.
The ramp from eastbound I-44 to Walnut (exit 291B) will also be closed at that time, as will one lane on eastbound I-44 between the ramp to the PSB and that ramp. All lanes and ramps are projected to reopen by 3 p.m.
Drivers heading into the city can continue eastbound on I-44 to Washington (exit 292) to enter the city. Drivers heading to eastbound I-64 across the Poplar Street Bridge can take the Washington exit to use the Eads or the Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge to cross the Mississippi and detour to eastbound I-64 or continue northbound on I-55.
