MoDOT to shift northbound I-55 lanes in south St. Louis County Friday

ST. LOUIS – Drivers traveling on Interstate 55 between Lindbergh and Reavis Barracks should be aware of shifting traffic as crews shift a portion of northbound I-55 into the southbound lanes this week.

Crews will shift the three northbound lanes on I-55 between Lindbergh and Reavis Barracks to the southbound side of the interstate, starting Friday, September 22 at 9 p.m.  The lane shift should be complete, and three lanes of northbound traffic moved to the southbound lanes by Saturday, September 23 at 6 a.m.

This multi-year project renovates many of the bridges in both directions of I-55 between I-44 in the city of St. Louis and Lindbergh. This portion removes and replaces the deck on the bridges over Gravois Creek and Green Park Road. This project will include additional lane shifts and ramp closures as crews complete work along the corridor.  Information on those closures will be shared as they are implemented.
