MoDOT to shift lanes on Interstate 70 at Route K/Main Street starting Monday, September 18

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – Drivers traveling on eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 at Route K/Main Street may expect delays during a bridge rehabilitation project on the I-70 bridge over Route K/Main Street. All work is weather permitting.

Starting at 9 p.m. Monday, September 18, crews will close the far-left lanes of eastbound and westbound I-70 over Route K/Main Street with concrete barriers in place. Traffic will be shifted towards the right side with the shoulder being used as the far-right lane in each direction.  Work will be completed in four stages, so there will be multiple lane shifts on I-70 as the bridge rehabilitation work progresses. This work is expected to be completed by mid-November.

The East Terra Lane entrance ramp to westbound I-70 at Sonderen Connector will also close starting September 18 and is expected to reopen on Monday, November 27. Motorists wishing to access westbound I-70 will be detoured to continue west on East Terra Lane across Main Street to the westbound I-70 entrance ramp.

This work is part of the I-70 bridge rehabilitation as part of a program to work on 12 bridges along Interstate 70 in St. Charles County: https://www.modot.org/70-bridge-rehabilitation-st-charles
