HANNIBAL – During its regular meeting on September 7, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded contracts for corridor improvements/turn lane, a bridge replacement, a slide repair and pavement replacement, and multiple resurfacing projects in the Northeast District.
Contract information and project locations are as follows:
- A $788,629 contract was awarded to E & C Bridge, LLC, for a bridge replacement project located on Missouri Route 149 in Macon County,2 miles south of Missouri Route 156 near Gifford.
- A $2.6M contract was awarded to Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., for a slide repair, grading and pavement project located on Missouri Route 3 in Randolph County, from 0.2 miles south of County Road 2130 to Sweet Spring Creek.
- A $1.1M contract was awarded to Karrenbrock Construction, Inc. for a corridor improvement/turn lane project on I-70 South Outer Road/Veterans Memorial Parkway in Warren County, located at Archer Road near Foristell. This is a cost share project with Warren County.
- A $4.7M contract was awarded to Magruder Paving, LLC, for resurfacing projects at the following locations:
- Audrain/Montgomery County, Route BB - From U.S. Route 54 to Missouri Route 161.
- Montgomery County, Route A - From Missouri Route 19 to Missouri Route 161.
- Audrain/Montgomery County, Route AA - From Route BB to Missouri Route 19 in Wellsville.
- Pike County, Route Y - From Business Route 61 in Bowling Green to the end of state maintenance.
- A $7M contract was awarded to W.L. Miller Company for resurfacing projects at the following locations:
- Clark County, Route C - From Missouri Route 81 to Missouri Route 27.
- Knox/Lewis County, Route K - From Missouri Route 15 in Baring to Missouri Route 6 in La Belle.
- Lewis County, Route N - From Missouri Route 6 to end of state maintenance.
- Lewis County, Route P - From U.S. Route 61 in Canton to Route C.
- Lewis County, U.S. Route 61 Outer Road - From Business Route 61 to end of state maintenance in Canton.
The resurfacing projects are included as part of Gov. Parson’s Rural Road program. With the Governor’s signing of the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, an additional $100 million in General Revenue is available for Missouri’s low volume rural roads. Using asset management data, the Missouri Department of Transportation has identified 1,567 lane miles of low volume roads ranked in poor condition. These locations will receive resurfacing treatments of hot mix asphalt to improve the road conditions. The roads are being bundled into several large contracts across the state.
