JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid-Missouri area Sept. 4 - 10. Weather conditions may postpone the scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.
Most routine work zones will stop for the Labor Day holiday, but some long-term work zones and closures will remain in place. If possible, work zones will stop at noon on Friday, September 1 and resume the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 5.
All Counties
Moving operations such as mowing, brush cutting, and pavement repair continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
Boone County
Missouri Route 163 – Bridge replacement continues. The road is currently closed over the Bonne Femme Creek Bridge. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2023.
Route F – Bridge deck replacement continues. The road is currently closed at the Coon Creek Bridge. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2023.
Route BB – Bridge replacement continues. The road is currently closed over Interstate70. A signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2023.
Route K – Road resurfacing continues. Expect daily lane closures between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
I-70 – Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2025 Traffic may be halted for up to one hour, both directions, on I-70 on Sunday, Sept. 10, beginning at approximately 7:30 a.m., for the demolition of the steel truss of the old Rocheport Bridge. The event will be livestreamed at modot.org/Rocheport.
Callaway County
Route H – Pavement repair planned Sept. 5 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes AD and CC – Road resurfacing continues. Expect nightly lane closures between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., Monday through Friday. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2023.
Camden County
Route A – Pavement repair planned Sept. 5 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 5 – Road resurfacing and guardrail installation and replacement continues from the Niangua River Bridge to Missouri Route 52 in Morgan County. Expect nightly lane closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. between Route 52 and Missouri Route 7. A 12-foot width is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
Cole County
U.S. Route 50 – Road resurfacing continues. Expect nightly lane closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. from U.S. Route 54 to Dix Road and from North Shamrock Road to Vetter Lane. Width restrictions are in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2023.
U.S. Route 50 westbound – Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Moreau River. An around-the-clock lane closure and 11-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project, which is scheduled for completion in September 2023.
Missouri Route 179 – Road resurfacing continues. Expect nightly lane closures between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. from Route B to West Main Street. A 12-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
U.S. Route 50 – Road resurfacing continues. Expect nightly lane closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Dix Road to Truman Boulevard. A 12-foot width restriction is in place.The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
U.S. Route 54 – Road resurfacing continues. Expect nightly lane closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Stadium Boulevard to Main Street. A 14-foot width restriction is in place.The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
U.S. Route 54 – Safety improvements continue near Hickory Hill. One lane will remain open. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
Cooper County
Route U – Sealing operations planned Sept. 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route O – Sealing operations planned Sept. 5 – 7. Expect daily lane closures between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
I-70 – Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. Dent County
Missouri Route 19 from Route TT to Edgar Road in Crawford County – Pavement repair planned Sept. 5 – 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route C – Pavement repair planned Sept. 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Gasconade County
Routes E and W – Pavement repair planned Sept. 5 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Laclede County
Route YY – Pavement repair planned Sept. 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 95 – Pavement repair planned Sept. 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route O from Route 95 to Route AD – Pavement repair planned Sept. 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Moniteau County
Routes U and KK – Sealing operations planned Sept. 5 - 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route D – Sealing operations planned Sept. 6 – 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route FF – Road resurfacing continues. Expect daily lane closures between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. One lane will remain open, and flaggers and a pilot vehicle will lead traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
Missouri Route 5 – Road resurfacing continues. Expect daily lane closures between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Missouri Route 52 to U.S. Route 50 in Moniteau County. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
Route 5 – Road resurfacing and guardrail installation and replacement continues from Route 52 to the Niangua River Bridge in Camden County. Expect nightly lane closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. between Route 52 and Missouri Route 7. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
Route 52 – Road resurfacing continues. Expect daily lane closures between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, from the Benton County line to Versailles. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
Osage County
U.S. Route 50 from Route CC to Route NN – Roadside work planned Sept. 5 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 133 from U.S. Route 63 to the city of Meta – Culvert pipe replacement planned Sept. 5 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route Y from the city of Byron to Missouri Route 89 – Pavement repair planned Sept. 5 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes FF and OO – Culvert pipe replacement planned Sept. 5 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route U – Road resurfacing continues. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
Phelps County
Saint James Boulevard – Roadside work planned Sept. 5 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes W and FF – Pavement repair planned Sept. 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route J – Pavement repair planned Sept. 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 68 – Road resurfacing continues. Expect nightly lane closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Route 68 at Matlock Drive to Missouri Route 8 at Courtois Creek. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023.
Interstate 44 – Road resurfacing continues from Exit 186 in Rolla to Exit 195 in St. James. Expect around-the-clock lane closures from U.S. Route 63 to Route 68. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2023.
Pulaski County
Route J – Pavement repair planned Sept. 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Washington County
Missouri Route 8 – Pavement repair planned Sept. 5 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
