Where: Eastbound U.S. Route 60 left passing lane CLOSED between Kansas Expressway and Campbell Avenue at night in Springfield

When: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday-Thursday night, September 5-8

What: Contractor crews are paving the new lanes of Route 60 between Kansas Expressway and Campbell Avenue. Crews plan to pave the new Westbound Route 60 lanes the week of September 11. This work is part of the U.S. ROUTE 60 (James River Freeway) Widening Project Between National Avenue & Kansas Expressway.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Eastbound U.S. Route 60 left passing lane CLOSED between Kansas Expressway and Campbell Avenue at night in Springfield
  • Route 60 (James River Freeway) right driving and auxiliary lanes Open
  • Westbound U.S. Route 60 Open
  • Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Drivers should look for alternate route
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

Contractor: Capital Paving & Construction LLC, Jefferson City

Total estimated cost: $21 million

  • Intersection Improvements at Campbell Ave are a cost share with the City of Springfield
