Overnight lane closures scheduled for portions of EB/WB I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd., Aug. 26-27

JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will CLOSE two lanes of eastbound and westbound I-70 at Blue Ridge Blvd. to install pavement markings and allow for work in the median.

  • The eastbound I-70 lane closures at Blue Ridge Blvd. will take place from approximately 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 until 2 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27.
  • The westbound I-70 lane closures at Blue Ridge Blvd. will take place from 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 until 6 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27.

This will not be a complete closure but motorists will experience delays in the area.

*Please note - if crews are not able to complete the work listed above, due to weather, the work will be rescheduled for Aug. 27-28 as follows:

  • Westbound I-70 from approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27 through 9 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27
  • Eastbound I-70 from approximately 5 p.m. on Sunday Aug. 27 through 1 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 28

This work is part of the project to replace the Blue Ridge Blvd. bridge over Interstate 70, as well as making interchange improvements to the ramps and approaches. Throughout construction, there will be intermittent lane closures along eastbound and westbound I-70. These lane closures are for traffic shifting, pavement marking, and barrier work. There will be three lanes of traffic along eastbound I-70 through construction with the exception of the intermittent lane closures. Motorists should anticipate various lane closures, ramp closures, and bridge work through approximately the end of 2023.

This bridge is included in Governor Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges Program which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
