DELAYED: Livingston County Route C Shoal Creek Bridge Replacement

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The scheduled reopening of the Livingston County Route C bridge over Shoal Creek, northwest of Dawn, has been delayed until late October 2023. L.G. Barcus and Sons, Inc. working with the Missouri Department of Transportation began the bridge replacement project in March with plans to be complete in late August.

Inclement weather, supply delivery and material issues have caused multiple delays from the original schedule. Work by the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) to raise the tracks beside the bridge has been completed. Crews are now working to complete the final stages of the project including pouring concrete barriers, overhangs, roadway approaches, erosion control and placing roadway striping and signs.

Route C at the bridge will remain closed to all traffic. Access to County Road 420 from Route C will be restricted at varying times throughout the project.
