JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Construction crews have delayed the start of the next phase of bridge rehabilitation work on westbound U.S. Route 50 over the Moreau River in Jefferson City. The start date of the next phase is not yet determined.
In July, a bridge rehabilitation project led by West Plains Bridge & Grading, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, narrowed westbound U.S. Route 50 over the Moreau River to one lane with signs and message boards directing motorists through the work zone.
The next phase of the project will require shifting traffic to the completed right-hand lane of the bridge to allow crews to complete the rehabilitation of the left-hand lane. The contractor has not set a new date for this traffic shift. As soon as that date is decided, MoDOT will provide more information through news releases and social media.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones.
