Resurfacing Project scheduled on U.S. Route 136 in Clark County

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, the week of August 22, a resurfacing project located on U.S. Route 136 in Clark County, from 2.5 miles east of Route BB to U.S. Route 61 near Alexandria, is scheduled to begin.

The $9,737,007 contract, awarded this last year to W.L. Miller Company of Hamilton, IL. The contract includes an additional resurfacing project located on Missouri Route 81 from Iowa State line to Route EE at Kahoka in Clark County. This project began on August 2. All work is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2023.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane during the day at the location where crews are actively working for the duration of the project. For the safety of the crews and the traveling public, we would like to remind drivers to be attentive in work zones and make smart, safe driving choices behind the wheel, including putting down your cell phone to eliminate distractions.

Flaggers and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. Workers will be present during daylight hours, weather permitting. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.

Work with us in the work zone! Please remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel. With an increased number of highway work zones in Missouri, we urge all drivers to  pay attention every second while driving, especially through a work zone. Be informed of your route by checking the MoDOT Traveler Information Map before you leave to see if you will encounter any work zones.
