MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane Closures on U.S. Route 65 Over Sunshine Street

In Springfield Beginning August 18

Where/When:

  • Right and center lane Closures on Southbound U.S. Route 65 over Sunshine Street in Springfield
    • 8 p.m. Friday, August 18 - 6 a.m. Monday, August 21
  • Right and center lane Closures on Northbound U.S. Route 65 over Sunshine Street in Springfield
    • 8 p.m. Friday, August 25 - 6 a.m. Monday, August 28

What: Contractor crews cleaning and sealing the bridge deck/driving surfaces on the U.S. Route 65. The work is a preventative maintenance measure aimed at extending the life of the bridge.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Right and center lane Closures on Southbound U.S. Route 65 over Sunshine Street in Springfield beginning Friday, August 18
  • Right and center lane Closures on Northbound U.S. Route 65 over Sunshine Street in Springfield beginning Friday, August 25
  • Route 65 is Open
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes. No signed detours are planned.
  • Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
