MoDOT to close EB I-44 under Broadway August 11-13

ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use eastbound I-44 (formerly I-70) through downtown to get to westbound I-70 and locations north will need to allow extra time or consider alternate routes, as crews will close a portion of the interstate next weekend.

Crews will close all lanes of eastbound I-44 between Washington and the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge to remove construction scaffolding and install drainage on the Broadway bridge over the interstate. Crews will close all lanes and starting Friday, August 11 at 9 p.m. and will reopen the lanes Sunday, August 13 by 5 a.m.

To detour around the closure, drivers can exit at Lumiere Place Boulevard (Exit 292), stay straight at the signal to get onto Lumiere Place. Follow Lumiere Place until it becomes North Broadway. Follow North Broadway to North Market, turn left on North Market and turn right on North 10th Street to get back on westbound I-70.
