Southbound McDonnell Blvd. Bridge Over I-70 to Close July 31

ST. LOUIS – Drivers who travel the southbound McDonnell Blvd. bridge across I-70 will need to detour as southbound lanes will close Monday, July 31 at 7 a.m. through the end of December. Crews will begin work on rehabbing the bridge.

Northbound lanes will remain open and will close once work on the southbound lanes is complete.

During the closure, drivers traveling west and wanting to travel south across the James McDonnell bridge will continue to travel west down Air Cargo Rd. until they reach Lambert International Blvd. They will continue west on Lambert International Blvd. and then south on Cypress Rd., taking the on-ramp to I-70 East. Drivers will then take I-70 to exit 237 (MO-115 E/Natural Bridge) which will take them back to James S. McDonnell Blvd.

Eastbound drivers wanting to turn south across the James McDonnell bridge will continue east on James McDonnell until they reach Airport Rd.  They will then head east on Airport Rd. and take the I-170 south ramp.  Drivers will take I-170 south to exit 6 (MO-115 W/Natural Bridge) which will take them to James S. McDonnell Blvd.

All work is weather permitting.  For more information on the project, visit Interstate 70 Bridge Rehabilitation in St. Louis | Missouri Department of Transportation (modot.org).
