Lincoln County Routes Scheduled to be Resurfaced

HANNIBAL – A resurfacing project located on Route JJ in Lincoln County, from Route W to Route 79 near Elsberry, is expected to begin August 1, weather permitting.

The $1,378,437 contract, awarded this last year to Mid-River Asphalt, Inc. of Troy. The contract includes an additional resurfacing project located on Route F from U.S. Route 61 to Route W in Lincoln County. This project is scheduled to begin immediately following Route JJ. All work is scheduled to be completed within approximately one month.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane during the day at the location where crews are actively working for the duration of the project. For the safety of the crews and the traveling public, we would like to remind drivers to be attentive in work zones and make smart, safe driving choices behind the wheel, including putting down your cell phone to eliminate distractions.

Flaggers and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. Workers will be present during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, weather permitting. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.

Work with us in the work zone! Please remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel. With an increased number of highway work zones in Missouri, we urge all drivers to  pay attention every second while driving, especially through a work zone. Be informed of your route by checking the MoDOT Traveler Information Map before you leave to see if you will encounter any work zones.
