CLAY AND JACKSON COUNTIES – MoDOT will be completing bridge cleaning and flushing work along northbound and southbound Interstate 435 over the Missouri River beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 6 – Friday, July 7. Crews will CLOSE the right lane of northbound I-435 in the area beginning at 9 a.m. Upon completion of the northbound side, crews will CLOSE the right lane of southbound I-435. The lane drops will be in place for several hours in each direction. There could be delays in the area. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and seek alternate routes if necessary. All work is weather permitting. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
