ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use Interstate 44 should be aware of several closures this week. Drivers on I-44 between Lewis Road and Six Flags Road should be aware of traffic lanes shifting later this week.
All work is weather permitting.
Crews will close up to two lanes eastbound and westbound overnight July 6 starting at 6 p.m. to restripe lanes. Only one lane will get through each evening, Lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. the following mornings.
July 7 and July 10-12, crews will close one eastbound and westbound lane overnight to place temporary barrier wall. The eastbound lane will be closed 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., the westbound lane will be closed 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
On northbound Interstate 270 near Interstate 44 motorists should be aware of an upcoming ramp closure the weekend of July 7 through 10.
Crews will close the ramp from northbound I-270 to westbound I-44 starting July 7 at 9 p.m. for bridge girder recoating and guardrail work. The ramp reopens July 10 by 5 a.m.
The ramp from southbound I-44 to westbound I-44, the ramp from westbound Route 366 to westbound I-44, and the ramp from westbound I-44 to Soccer Park will not be impacted by the closure.
To detour around the closure, drivers can continue on northbound I-270 to Dougherty Ferry, cross the interstate and head southbound on I-270 to westbound I-44.
