NOFO Posted: FY 2023 INFRA/Mega/Rural (Multimodal Project Discretionary Grant)

The Department of Transportation (DOT) is now taking applications for up to $5.575 billion in funding from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for projects of regional or national significance.  This funding supports three major discretionary grant programs:  (1) National Infrastructure Project Assistance grants program (Mega); (2) Nationally Significant Multimodal Freight and Highways Projects grants (INFRA); and (3) Rural Surface Transportation Grant program (Rural). The FY 2023- 2024 MPDG Notice of Funding Opportunity can be found here

These programs involve surface transportation projects designed to strengthen supply chains, spur economic development, and improve safety and daily life. Applications for funding are being solicited together under a single opportunity titled the Multimodal Project Discretionary Grant program.  DOT will evaluate common applications for the programs using common merit criteria and considerations to provide a more streamlined and efficient application process for project sponsors. However, each program is unique in terms of statutory requirements, and we encourage partners to read the NOFO in detail before submitting applications.

The deadline for applications is 11:59 pm EDT on August 21, 2023, Applicants may find the NOFO, Frequently Asked Questions, and other helpful resources here
