Crews will CLOSE ramp from southbound I-35 to eastbound I-670 July 10 through late August

JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will be making bridge deck and substructure repairs, as well as replacing a bridge joint, that will require the total closure of the southbound Interstate 35 ramp to eastbound I-670 beginning at approximately 6 a.m. on Monday, July 10, until approximately Monday, Aug. 28. This is a complete closure and motorists will need to follow the signed detour or seek alternate routes. The signed detour will route motorists to eastbound I-70 around the northside of the downtown loop. From there, they can exit to downtown, westbound I-670, southbound U.S. 71, or continue onto eastbound I-70. This work is anticipated to cause traffic delays. Please plan ahead and leave early if necessary.  All work is weather permitting.

This project will be constructed over the course of three phases in the next year. Phase 1 included bridge work and work within the median. Phase 2 will address the westbound side of the project and Phase 3 will address the eastbound side. The project is anticipated to be complete by winter 2023.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
