JACKSON AND CLAY COUNTIES – Crews with the Buck O’Neil Bridge project will make the following traffic changes on Wednesday, June 28. Motorists may need to seek alternate routes during this time. All work is weather permitting.
Wednesday, June 28
- Beginning at midnight on Wednesday, June 28, crews will CLOSE Woodswether Rd. at Third St. until approximately noon for deck pour work.
- Beginning at 9 a.m. beginning on Wednesday, June 28, crews will CLOSE the ramp from northbound Interstate 35 to eastbound I-70 until 3 p.m. for bridge work.
- Motorists will be able to access eastbound I-70 by taking the Broadway exit and continuing straight through the intersection.
Thursday, June 29
- Beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, crews will CLOSE the ramp from northbound I-35 to eastbound I-70 until 3 p.m. for bridge work.
- Motorists will be able to access eastbound I-70 by taking the Broadway exit and continuing straight through the intersection.
Friday, June 30
- Beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 30, crews will OPEN southbound Richards Rd. to Harlem Circle.
Wednesday, July 5
- Beginning at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, crews will CLOSE southbound Richard Rd. to Harlem Circle until Friday, July 7 for bridge work.
The current Buck O’Neil Memorial Bridge is a triple arch bridge carrying U.S. Route 169 over the Missouri River, and serves as a key regional connection between downtown Kansas City and communities north of the river. While safe, the bridge is nearing the end of its projected service life.
