MoDOT to shift traffic onto the new Cave Springs bridge overnight June 19 and June 21

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – Drivers on Cave Springs Road over Interstate 70 should consider alternate routes during overnight hours Monday, June 19 and then again on Wednesday, June 21. Crews will be reconfiguring traffic patterns at Cave Springs both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in preparation to switch traffic onto the new Cave Springs Road bridge. All work is weather permitting.

A weekend lane closure of both directions of I-70 at Cave Springs will occur from 10 p.m. Friday, June 23 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 26 for demolition of the old Cave Springs Road bridge. Traffic in both directions of I-70 will be routed through the ramps.

The Cave Springs and Zumbehl interchanges are being converted into single point urban interchanges (SPUI) for the I-70 Cave Springs to Fairgrounds Design-Build Project. As construction on this project progresses, both interchanges will remain open to drivers.
