TRAFFIC ALERT: Nighttime Lane Reductions on Route 54 in El Dorado Springs for Resurfacing June 8 & 9

Where: U.S. Route 54 in El Dorado Springs from near 1st Street east to Missouri Route 32

When: 7 p.m., Thursday, June 8 through 7 a.m., Friday, June 9

What: Contractor crews will add overlay of new asphalt along Route 54

Traffic impacts:

  • Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are working
  • Drivers will encounter flaggers and pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
  • Work will be done during nighttime hours (7 p.m.-7 a.m.)
  • All lanes open during daytime hours, however motor carriers traffic should seek alternate routes due to lane width restrictions
  • No signed detour
  • Drivers should find alternate routes
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Drivers are urged to use caution as they may experience a rough ride in areas until the resurfacing project is complete.

Weather and/or scheduling delays could alter the work schedule. 

This work is part of a project to resurface Route 54 in Cedar and Vernon counties from near I-49 in Nevada east to El Dorado Springs. In addition, crews will be adding new permanent striping, rumble strips and new guardrail in areas.
