Road to close Tuesday in Holts Summit

Roundabout construction will close Route O and ramps at the U.S. Route 54 interchange

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – An intersection improvement project already underway will close parts of the U.S. Route 54 and Route OO interchange in Holts Summit next week. Contractors from Sam Gaines Construction, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, began preliminary work on the west side of the interchange earlier this week. The next stage of work will be the construction of a new roundabout on the east side of the interchange. On Tuesday, May 30, Route OO (Simon Boulevard) over U.S. Route 54 and the northbound U.S. Route 54 on/off ramps at Route OO will close to all traffic. Motorists should follow detour signs to navigate around the road closures.

The contractor has been given an accelerated schedule and, by contract, must complete the roadway construction and reopen Route OO and the ramps prior to June 30.

Construction is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
