UPDATE: Traffic Alert: Closure of MO 45 Spur for pavement resurfacing on May 24

Work will take place from approximately 7 a.m.- 6 p.m. on May 24

PLATTE COUNTY – Crews will close the Missouri Route 45 Spur between Missouri Route 92 and Missouri Route 45 from approximately 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24 for pavement resurfacing. This will be a complete closure. Work is scheduled to be completed on May 24 but could extend into May 25. All work is weather dependent.

MO 45 will remain open to traffic traveling north and south. There will not be a signed detour. Motorists can take the detour of MO 92 to MO 45 at the Beverly Crossover and will be able to access MO 45 south.

This work is part of the MO 45 improvement project and focuses on two sections of MO 45 including a 14-mile stretch from Buchanan County line to Rte. 273 and a 12-mile stretch from Rte. 273 to Moore's Ferry Road. Construction is anticipated to be completed in the Fall of 2023. The southern portion of MO 45 was resurfaced in 2022 and included I-435 to Moore’s Ferry Road. An additional proposed project includes adding a southbound left turn lane at MO 45 and Jones-Meyer Road in 2025.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
