Repairs to St. Joseph bridges, ramps to begin next week

St. Joseph, Mo. – Several St. Joseph area bridges are scheduled to close for bridge maintenance beginning Monday, May 22. Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will close the roadway while completing bridge/ramp repairs and yearly maintenance. The tentative schedule is as follows:

  • May 22: Westbound U.S. Route 36 to Interstate 229 south turn lane
  • May 23: I-229 ramp to U.S. Route 36 west
  • May 30: Cook Road bridge over I-29
  • May 31: Gene Field bridge over I-29
  • June 5: Route AC bridge over U.S. Route 36

The project is scheduled to be complete by mid-June. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
