ST. LOUIS – Residents who have used the Cherokee Street ramp to access southbound I-55 may want to attend an upcoming open house style public hearing to discuss the future of the ramp.
The hearing is May 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center, 3301 Lemp Ave, St. Louis, MO 63118.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold the open house-style public hearing to share information about a proposal to permanently close the ramp to the interstate.
During the hearing, MoDOT engineers will share information about the proposal and hear concerns from the community about any potential impacts from the ramps closures and discuss how those impacts might be reduced or eliminated.
There will be no formal presentation. Participants may attend the hearing at any time May 24 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
A Spanish-speaking engineer will be available at the public hearing. For those who are unable to attend the meeting in person, the information shared during the meeting as well as a survey form will be available at I-55 ramp at Cherokee | Missouri Department of Transportation (modot.org) People are welcome to view the information and provide comments about the proposal until Wednesday, June 7.
This meeting will allow the public to share their thoughts and concerns about the ramp and to provide comments, either directly to the engineers or through the survey, on those concerns.
