TRAFFIC ALERT: Expect Delays, Some Closures of I-44 Ramps in Joplin for Resurfacing Beginning May 10

Where: I-44 interchange ramps between Exit 1 (U.S. Route 166) & Exit 8 (Range Line Road) in Joplin

When: 7p.m.-5 a.m., Sunday-Thursday beginning Wednesday, May 10 through the end of the month

What: Contractor crews resurfacing on and off ramps as part of I-44 resurfacing project

Traffic Impacts:

• I-44 on and off ramps CLOSED where crews are working, beginning in the eastbound lanes at Exit 1 (U.S. Route 166)
  • When contractor crews have finished in the eastbound direction, they will turn around and head westbound beginning at Exit 8 (Range Line Road)
• No two consecutive interchanges closed at the same time allowing drivers to exit at the next interchange and turn around if necessary
• No signed detour
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the work zones
• Drivers should find alternate route
• Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
