Route KK in Douglas County Reduced for Pavement Improvements

SIKESTON – Route KK in Douglas County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement improvements.

This section of roadway is located from Route 76 to the end of state maintenance.

Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday May 2 through Tuesday, May 23 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

As work is underway, flaggers will be present, and traffic will be guided through the work zone by a pilot car.

This project is part of Gov. Parson’s Rural Road program. The state’s approved Fiscal Year 2023 budget provided an additional $100 million in General Revenue for work on Missouri’s low volume rural roads. Using asset management data, MoDOT has identified approximately 1,700 lane miles of low volume roads ranked in Poor Condition. By next summer, these 113 locations will receive resurfacing treatments of hot asphalt to improve the road conditions.
