St. Louis Work Zones April 27-May 3

ST. LOUIS – This weekend, drivers along I-270 should be aware of two interchange closures along the corridor that may delay traffic.

First, drivers who use Interstate 270/Interstate 255 near Interstate 55 will want to consider alternate routes or allow extra time April 28-May 1 as MoDOT will close lanes and ramps as part of on-going bridge rehabilitation.

Weather permitting, crews will close the ramp from westbound I-270/I-255 to southbound I-55 and the ramp from Lemay Ferry to westbound I-270 as well as three lanes on westbound I-255/Interstate 270 at the I-55 interchange. That closure will leave two through lanes open in the area. The lanes close on Friday, April 28 at 8 p.m and ramps close at 9 p.m. The lanes and the ramps will reopen on Monday, May 1 by 5 a.m.

The closures will allow crews to paint the ramps over the interstate. Detours will be marked.

North St. Louis County drivers who travel northbound I-170 to eastbound I-270 should plan an alternate route, as MoDOT will be closing the interchange for four consecutive weekends, beginning Friday, April 28 at 9 p.m. through Monday, May 1 at 5 a.m.  The interchange will also be closed at the same time on the weekends of May 5-8, May 12-15 and May 19-22.

The closures will allow crews to perform bridge maintenance work on four bridges of the interchange. Drivers can detour from northbound I-170  to westbound I-270 to Lindbergh to eastbound I-270.

For more on roadway closures due to construction, additional work zone information, and real-time roadway weather conditions, go to http://traveler.modot.org/map. For real-time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com. All work is subject to change and may be shifted due to inclement weather.
