Multi-county scrub seal project set to begin next week

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A scrub seal project across multiple counties in northwest Missouri is scheduled to begin next week. Contractors from the Vance Brothers, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will seal 10 routes beginning Monday, May 1.

The planned schedule is as follows: 

  • May 1: Missouri Route 118 in Holt County from Route 59 to Route 111. 
  • May 3: U.S. Route 136 in Atchison County from Route O to Route YY.  
  • May 5: Route EE in Nodaway County from Route NN to Route 46. 
  • May 10: U.S. Route 169 in Gentry/Worth counties from U.S. Route 136 in Gentry County to Route 46 in Worth County. 
  • May 17: Route 46 in Worth/Harrison counties from U.S. Route 69 in Harrison County to U.S. Route 169 in Worth County  
  • May 25: Route N in Harrison/Mercer counties from Route B in Mercer County to Route B in Harrison County 

During construction, crews will close a single lane of traffic and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place. 

The remaining four routes are scheduled to begin in September and October of 2023. An updated schedule will be provided as it is made available. The tentative completion for the project is November 2023. 

All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
