Greene & Christian County – Drivers can expect lane and shoulder closings on various routes in the Springfield and Nixa areas when a road sign replacement project begins the week of May 8, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will install new and more reflective signs to replace the current signs at various locations in the Springfield and Nixa areas. The new signs are being installed to comply with federal standards. Work will be done during daytime hours, but will transition to nighttime hours toward the end of June, as crews install new signs on trusses that hang over the road.
Traffic Impacts:
- Lane and shoulder closings on various routes in the Springfield and Nixa areas
- Drivers will encounter flaggers where crews are working
- Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
- During higher traffic volume times, expect occasional delays
- No signed detour
- Drivers may need to seek alternate routes to get to their destinations
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
Advanced Highway Sign & Supply of Nixa is doing the work for a low bid amount of $343,862.30.
The project is to be completed by November 1, 2023.
