MoDOT Prepares for Predicted Severe Weather

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is prepping maintenance crews in anticipation of severe weather expected later today, March 31, in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

According to Bob Becker, MoDOT’s district maintenance engineer, crews will be staffed in all maintenance facilities throughout the duration of the severe weather.

“A very active weather pattern is predicted which may include heavy rain, high winds, damaging hail and possible tornadoes that can all have an impact on driving conditions across the area’s roadways and highways,” said Becker.

Motorists are advised to be cautious while driving in wet weather and to be on the lookout for downed power lines and trees.  Individuals can report these situations that may occur on MoDOT maintained state roads and highways by calling 1-888- ASK-MoDOT (275-6636).
