UPDATE: Pavement and guardrail work to begin on several routes in Jefferson City

Revised schedule: Work to begin March 28

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – Originally scheduled to begin Monday, March 20, pavement repairs, guardrail improvement and signal detection work will now begin Tuesday, March 28, and continue through April 14. Contractors from Capital Paving & Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will be working at night between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. During this work, the roadway may be narrowed to one lane and will require a single lane closure on the following segments:

Pavement repair, March 28 – April 14:

  • Missouri Route 179 in Jefferson City from Business Route 50 to Industrial Drive/Truman Boulevard
  • S. Route 50 near Route 179
  • Business Route 50

Pavement repair, April 10 – 14:

  • S. Route 54.

Guardrail replacement

  • Route 179 and East McCarty Street

 From March 28 through April 14, the contractor also plans to conduct daytime signal work on Route 179, Route B, Business Route 50 and U.S. Route 50. The signal work should not impact traffic.

Following the completion of this work, milling and resurfacing is scheduled to begin in mid-April. The project is expected to be completed by November 2023.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
