I-70 to narrow next week in Columbia

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will close one lane of Interstate 70 in Columbia nightly next week for sweeping and signing operations, weather permitting.

The left, inside, passing lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night, per the schedule below. At least one lane, each direction, will remain open during the operation:

  • Monday, March 27: eastbound from Route 740/E (Stadium Boulevard) to Route 163 (Providence Road).
  • Tuesday, March 28: eastbound from Providence Road to U.S. Route 63.
  • Wednesday, March 29: westbound from U.S. Route 63 to Providence Road
  • Thursday, March 30: westbound from Providence Road to Stadium Boulevard

Motorists are urged to slow down and use extreme caution during these nightly lane closures.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
