ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the right lane on northbound I-55 at Bayless Avenue TONIGHT, Thursday, March 23, due to the forecast of heavy rain that could cause flash flooding in the work zone.
Crews will close the right lane starting at 5 p.m. TONIGHT between Bayless Avenue to Virginia Avenue. Only the left lane will be open northbound at this location. North of Virginia both northbound I-55 lanes will be open.
During this right lane closure, the Weber Road ramp to northbound I-55 may also be closed. Depending on the duration of the inclement weather, both the right lane and ramp closure could remain in effect through the Friday morning commute.
This work zone is part of a multi-year project replacing or renovating 13 interstate bridges in both directions between Interstate 44 in the city of St. Louis and Lindbergh. All stages of the project are expected to conclude in early 2025.
