MoDOT to conduct I-70 Blanchette Bridge washing starting March 26

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting bridge washing operations on the I-70 Blanchette Bridge over the Missouri River starting Sunday, March 26.

Crews will be washing the bridges as part of routine maintenance from the salt and chemicals used during winter operations. All work is weather permitting.

Lane closures will be in place during the following days and times:

  • March 26-31: 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., two left lanes closed, or from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m., three right lanes closed. During the closure of the eastbound right lanes, the eastbound I-70 on ramp from 5th Street will be closed.
  • April 1-8: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., one left lane or one right lane closed eastbound and westbound.

Additional bridge washing is scheduled to occur on the Route 21 bridge over the Meramec River. A schedule and list of lane closures will be released when work is set to begin at that location.
