ST. LOUIS – – Drivers on Interstate 55 heading into or leaving the city of St. Louis should be prepared for shifted traffic lanes as crews move into the next stage of work on bridges on I-55.
Monday, March 13, starting at 8 a.m., crews will close the ramp from Arsenal to southbound I-55. Starting at 9 a.m. after morning rush, crews will close one additional lane on southbound I-55, for a total of three closed lanes at Arsenal to shift southbound traffic into the northbound lanes. The shift should be complete and the third lane reopened by 3 p.m.
If necessary, crews will complete the traffic shift on Tuesday, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
When the shift is complete, drivers will have two lanes in each direction open for travel on I-55 between I-44 and Bayless.
Drivers who use the ramp from Koch Road to eastbound I-255 will need to determine an alternate Route March 13, as crews will close the ramp for some pavement work.
Crews will close the ramp March 13, between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. to diamond-grind the bridge over Koch Road. At the same time, crews will close the right lane on eastbound I-255 over Koch Road.
Drivers on Koch Road who want to travel east can take westbound I-255 to Telegraph Road and then get onto eastbound I-255.
