St. Louis Work Zones March 2 - 8

ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use the Route 30 bridge over Interstate 44 in St. Clair should determine alternate routes now as the bridge will close for rehabilitation this week.

The Route 30 bridge and all entrance and exit ramps from I-44 to Route 30 will close at 7 a.m. on March 2.  Crews will remove the bridge deck March 3 to March 5 during nighttime hours. The bridge and all ramps will reopen by early May.

Lane closures for the demolition are as follows:

  • I-44 eastbound - 9 p.m. Friday, March 3 to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 4
  • I-44 westbound - 9 p.m. Saturday, March 4 to 6 a.m. Sunday, March 5
  • I-44 eastbound and westbound - 10 p.m. Sunday, March 5 to 5 a.m. Monday, March 6

During demolition, traffic on I-44 will be reduced to one lane in each direction. I-44 traffic will be detoured up and over the existing ramps at Route 30.

There will be no through traffic allowed on Route 30. A signed detour will be in place directing traffic to use Route 47 as an alternate route.

Motorists who drive northbound Route 141 north of Lakefront Dr. will have to take an alternate route for the next few months. Crews will close all northbound lanes starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 7 through June to replace the bridge over the Earth City Levee District’s retention ponds.

During construction, signed detours will be in place. Drivers who normally use this section of Route 141, north of I-70, will be detoured to eastbound I-70 to northbound I-270 to westbound 370 and to Route 141.
