McDonald County – Drivers can expect lane closures and traffic delays when a project to resurface a section of U.S. Route 71 and Route OO in McDonald County near Pineville begins the week of March 6, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will remove the existing asphalt driving surface and replace it with a new asphalt surface on Route 71 from Goodin Hollow Road in Pineville south to the Missouri/Arkansas state line and on Route OO from Route 71 south to the Missouri/Arkansas state line south of Jane.
In addition to the resurfacing, the contractor will install new guardrail, rumble strips, signs, overhead lighting and traffic signal loop detectors in areas on Route 71. Contractor crews also will add a new right turn lane from northbound Route 71 to Rains Road in Pineville.
