February 21, 2023 – For immediate release

SPRINGFIELD – Stacy Reese has been named the district engineer for the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Southwest District. The district covers 21 counties including the Joplin and Springfield areas. She will take over the leadership of the Southwest region from Steve Campbell, who recently retired.

A registered professional engineer in Missouri, Reese has spent her 25-year career with MoDOT in the Southwest District. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, she has worked in various roles designing highways and was part of the team who developed the design for the nation’s first diverging diamond interchange built in 2009 along Interstate 44 in Springfield. Most recently Reese served as the assistant district engineer overseeing all program delivery for road and bridge projects in the district.

“As a lifelong southwest Missouri resident, I take great pride in the work the MoDOT team provides for the state’s transportation system to the communities we serve in the southwest,” Reese said. “I’m honored to be selected to lead the dedicated employees who work for MoDOT. I look forward to continuing the outstanding partnerships we have with the community leaders across the region as we work together to find solutions for the transportation needs in our corner of the state.”
