MoDOT to move Northbound Interstate 55 traffic back to original configuration

ST. LOUIS – Drivers may encounter delays on Monday, December 19 as crews shift northbound Interstate 55 traffic between Potomac and Arsenal back onto the original northbound configuration. The traffic shift is expected to occur from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Previously, two lanes on northbound I-55 were narrowed and shifted to southbound I-55 (two lanes in each direction). Once completed, two lanes of northbound traffic will be back on the northbound side. In addition, the northbound exit ramps to 3200 Broadway and Arsenal will also be reopened after traffic is returned to the northbound section.

Near the end of 2022, crews will shift traffic on the south end of the project through fall 2024. Drivers can expect regular lane shifts and ramp closures as crews work on the various bridges along the corridor.
