Chariton County bridge project complete

Two-way traffic resumes at the U.S. Route 24 bridge over Palmer Creek

ST. JOSEPH, Mo – A bridge deck replacement project on U.S. Route 24 in Chariton County, west of Route MM near Brunswick, is now complete and the roadway has been restored to normal two-way traffic. Crews from Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, completed the project which began Aug. 1, 2022.

During construction, temporary traffic signals were in place to guide motorists through the work zone. Crews removed the traffic signals today, Wednesday, Dec. 14, and opened both lanes to traffic.
