ST. LOUIS – Weather permitting, crews will close one additional westbound lane (from Illinois) on I-255 across the Mississippi River at the Jefferson Barracks Bridge Thursday, December 15 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for striping work. Only one westbound lane will be open during that time.
In North St. Louis County, the westbound I-270 exit ramp at West Florissant permanently closes starting Wednesday, December 14.
Drivers who wish to access West Florissant Avenue from westbound I-270 will now use the Old Halls Ferry Road westbound exit from I-270.
The ramp closure represents another safety upgrade within the I-270 North Project zone. Reducing the number of exit and entrance ramps throughout the corridor places greater distance between ramps, giving drivers more room to enter and exit the highway.
The ramp closure and construction work are part of the $278 million I-270 North Project infrastructure upgrades.
